Call for Papers:
The University of Vienna, Faculty of Islamic Education, in cooperation with the University of of Innsbruck and the State University of Tetova, is organizing an international conference in Skopje from the 16th to the 18th of October 2015.
We are soliciting contributions to the conference that will ultimately be published as chapters in an edited volume.
In particular, we are interested in papers that address the potential roles of pedagogy, educational institutions, and religious organizations in resolving the problems resulting from the relationship between “Religion and Violence” from the following perspectives:
- Pedagogical methodologies for addressing religious radicalization
- Interfaith and intercultural dialogue as a means to address violence justified by religion
- Philosophical, theological, and pedagogical approaches to religiously motivated violence
- Promoting sense of belonging and supporting identity development in the classroom
